Helloo fellow couchsurfers! <3

I am Christiana, 25 years old, soon to be 26. I come from Greece but I currently live in Bamberg, Germany.
For the last 6 years I have been living in different countries / cities, meeting new people and learning about how people live in different places :D I have lived in Italy, Switzerland and now in Germany.

I love to make friends around the world and learn foreign languages :D I love spending time in nature, and I would love to do it full time one day. I am trying to travel slowly, and in the most environmentally conscious way possible: this means I don't use the plane and, when I camp, I always try to "give back" by cleaning trash I find and leaving the place cleaner than I found it. I always carry a plastic bag with me for that, just in case.

I love taking pictures (my Nikon is also always with me), crocheting, drawing and reading books.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am very excited to couchsurf for the first time! :D

In this trip, I want to go ice skating on a natural lake or canal (I will bring my skates with me as well), and I would love to be hosted by someone who knows the place and could suggest a few nice spots to ice skate. If you would also like to ice skate with me, I would be veeery happy (but no pressure)! :D

I am very tidy, extrovert (but I can also mind my own business, you don't have to feel like you need to "entertain" me unless you want to), and I would love to bring you some "Mitbringsel" (= cute german word for "souvenir") from Baveria. Maybe a Rauchbier? Or I could crochet something for you :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ohh I could talk about this one all day! I listen from metal (burzum, disturbed, psychonaut4) to psychedelic rock (you should listen to Nightstalkers, it is a greek psychedelic rock band :D), to loots of rap (greek, italian and some turkish even), to just calm music that I don't know what genre it is, maybe you could help me figure it out.

Movies: Borat and Bruno are some of my favourites <3 But I also like movies who underline social problems (I suggest "Durak", it is THE best russian film)

Books: Anything from Kafka to Dostoyevsky to Camus I have most likely read :) I wrote my Bachelor thesis on Goethe's Werther. If you want to talk about literature I am 10000% in!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's maybe a bit sad, but since a couple years in the summer I go with a group of volunteers in greek mountains that have been affected by wildfires and we try to find animals that are still alive and injured to save them :( Unfortunately we also have to count the dead ones we find, because we try to pass the message that even if 0 people died in a wildfire, there are still MANY animals that died, and this is something important too! Unfortunately our politicians don't give a shit about this :((((

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you greek or italian if you want to :D

If you are interested to travel to Athens, I would love to give you inside tips since it is where I was born. And if I happen to be there at the time, I would also love to show you around :D

I can also share with you tips on other places that I have visited, even though I have only traveled in europe so far.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you are into cooking as well, I would be more than happy to share with you some recipes from my country, Greece, or Italy (I have lived there for 7 years so I consider myself an italian now haha). I can show you how to make real tzatziki (forget the one you buy at the supermarket), or the authentic carbonara!

I would also love to share with you any other aspects of my culture that you may find interesting :)

And of course, I will bing you anything you want from Bamberg! Have you tried our typical Rauchbier? (smoked beer, it is to die for!!)
