About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel through Europe and take SO MANY PICTURES

ABOUT ME

I am Irish, German, French Canadian and Dutch. My mother is from Massachusetts, and my father's side is from Georgia and Virginia but he was born and raised in Florida, which is why I ended up here. I have two brothers, 17 cousins on my mom's side and 2 on my dad's, making spending time with my family a huge part of my life. I am creative, passionate about music, sports, dance, photography and traveling. In love with my enormous family, my dog, sunsets, beaches and Massachusetts.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason. As cliche as it may sound, I truly believe in that. Every experience, good or bad, is meant to teach you something and make you a stronger person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couchsurfing, and after completing the move to Boston, Massachusetts at the beginning of June and returning from my trip to Europe in July I hope to be able to host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined couchsurfing this year. I've heard great things about it from friends who live in Germany and England, so I'm looking forward to having some positive experiences and meeting great people through it as well.

Interests

I love science, art and medicine, and how they contribute to one another. I became interested in the medical field at a young age because my mother is a registered nurse, and naturally I wanted to follow in her footsteps. I was encouraged to aim higher and pursue a career in dentistry, with hopes of becoming a pediatric dentist, but I am now reverting back to the original plan and am hoping to complete my education in nursing all the way through to a master's degree and NP license at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts starting next fall.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies that spark deep thought and self-reflection, but I also love a good comedy, horror or action movie. Some favorites are Pride and Prejudice, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Ever After, Twister and other awesome disaster movies, any movie with Will Ferrell, old Adam Sandler movies, ALL Tim Burton movies, but I have many more. I love movies :]

I am an EDM junkie. I have been to Ultra Music Festival 2 years in a row and other big festivals in between, and my current music mission is still to get as much bass to the face as possible, and dance for as long as I can :) haha, I also am a huge fan of classic and modern rock, and country. Aerosmith, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Boston, Guns N Roses, Alice in Chains, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Foo Fighters, the Offspring, Slipknot, Disturbed, All That Remains, Avenged Sevenfold, Gary Allan, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton...I could go on forever...

Growing up, I loved the Harry Potter series. I enjoy reading the classics, especially Jane Austen,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Panama, I watched ships and boats of all sizes go through the Miraflores locks on the Panama Canal. It was amazing to see this incredible man made wonder of the world at work, at all hours of the day and operating on hydropower. Knowing the history behind the construction of the canal and how many obstacles the workers had to conquer to complete it, many dying in the process, made standing in front of it and witnessing its success an absolutely incredible experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can only learn so much about a culture by studying it in a book. The real learning comes from traveling and conversation, and through conversation and the sharing of experiences, you'll teach, learn, and create unforgettable friendships and memories :)
