I am an early career theater director living in Brooklyn, New York. I am originally from Alaska and moved away from that great state in 2011 to pursue the arts more seriously. I started out as an actor and have trained extensively in different techniques. I turned my attention to directing in 2008 and have been hooked ever since. I specialize in new work development and youth theater.

Growing up all over the state of Alaska and having relatives all over the Pacific Northwest, I grew to love traveling and meeting new people. I had the great opportunity to attend a college prep school for high school and was able to see more of the world through class trips. I have stayed with host families in both China and Costa Rica and enjoyed being able to be immersed in different ways of life.

I love the art of storytelling and enjoy learning more about different forms in other cultures. One of my favorite theatrical moments was seeing a Brazilian puppet show in the small community of Paraty.

I have been very fortunate to be able to travel as much as I have and cannot wait to see more of this amazing world.

I am taking an original work of mine to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year and am looking for a more immersive experience.

MUSIC: Love it all! Some faves include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Decemberists, Pink, Frances Cone, Amanda Palmer, Foo Fighters, 80s pop, 90s grunge, folk music, blues, the list goes on and on!

MOVIES: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moulin Rouge, Colossal.

BOOKS: Lord of the Rings, A Confederacy of Dunces, the Neon Bible, Memoirs of a Polar Bear, A Separate Peace, Wuthering Heights, The Bell Jar. I am currently really into non-fiction and memoirs. Faves include Shrill by Lindy West, The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer, Becoming by Michelle Obama.

TV: Game of Thrones, The Good Place, Shrill, Big Mouth, Bob's Burgers, RuPaul's Drag Race, Mystery Science Theater 3000.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really enjoy cooking! I can follow a recipe really well and am not afraid to just experiment myself.

I also don't mind cleaning bathrooms. Just point me to the cleaning supplies and I will be glad to help!

I am also great with animals and kids. I have been a teaching artist for more than ten years and can come up with some really fun activities to keep kids occupied.
