About Me

I want to know all the things about our world! I love talking, culture, food, and history. I love people and all the special sights, smells, sounds that make up places. I love stories! I want to know yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel so much! I love learning about people, places, perspectives -- sharing stories and food. I collect handmade yarn dyed by people in the places I visit. I like to travel to places my ancestors came from, learn about family history. I want to eat the world! I love food and cooking.

With a limited budget, I'm always looking for frugal ways to see the world. I appreciate the exchange of generosity that is the spirit of couch surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid reader, love British historical fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, and speculative fictional, post-apocalyptic, and real life survival stories.

-The Suffolk Trilogy by Nora Lofts
-Poldark series, Winston Graham
- The Three Body Problem, Cixin Liu
- everything Neil Stephenson ever wrote

Frequent movie goer, I love great films and film criticism

TV: too many to name all!
Survivor
The Last Kingdom
Vikings
Game of Thrones
OG fan of The X-Files, and Lost

I love board games, and play several times a week when I'm home. Everything from abstract to family fun to heavy Euro-style: if there's a game you like to play, then I would like to play it with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt for a decade. I am a 8 time finalist and hall-of-famer, in 2016 my team beat of 55,000+ teams to win the top prize: a trip to Iceland where we go to go down into a volcano!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach crochet, I love to cook and I'm good at it! I can help you research your family history (genealogy).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook, and I have a lot of gardening experience. I can teach crochet, lead creative art projects, and do ancestry research.
