I'm a farmer and educator living and working in Milwaukee, WI and from Central Wisconsin originally, though I've moved around a lot (Midwest, Pittsburgh, New Zealand). I work for a sustainable indoor hydroponics farm doing a combinations of customer service work and farm labor. This is my "9 to 5" job as I work towards financial independence and eventually becoming a "digital nomad" so I can travel the world freely!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I first tried out Courchsurfing as a broke college student attending a conference. I couldn't afford the hotel and having done a lot of hostels while studying abroad in New Zealand, this seemed like something to try for that weekend. It turned out great! I met an amazing family and had a blast learning to make Shakshuka, which is now a regular staple in my cooking repertoire. Couchsurfing is now my go-to because I love the community aspect to it and getting to meet new people and make new friends.

Intereses

I'm a big fan of Meetup groups and I go to a lot of hiking ones in particular! I am working on section hiking the Ice Age National Scenic Trail here in Wisconsin but slowly...I have only completed about 500 of 1000 miles so far. Actually, I began my own hiking group in my area to help beginner women gain confidence on the trails and feel safe. It's been 2 years running the group and I absolutely LOVE meeting all the women and organizing the hikes. Recently, I hosted a 23 mile lake loop and it was so inspiring to see women complete the trek who had joined my group as newbie hikers!

My other main passion in life is pole dance! I found it quite by accident, taking a 4-week intro class on a whim and an amazing Cyber Monday deal while looking for something else! Two years later, and I'm hooked! I'm in advanced level classes now, have set up my own home pole area, and have just way too many shoes and pole outfits! It's the first exercise class I've ever looked forward to going to. I've met some amazing people, learned so much about the aerial arts community, and learned to love and accept my body!

Lived in New Zealand for 6 months and pretty much everything I did there was amazing! Glacier hiking, glow worm caves, sailing, hiking everywhere, Lord of the Rings tours, giant games of chess, and so much more.

I definitely want to learn about anything to do with farming, gardening, cooking, preserving food, wild edible plants, or anything else. If you know how to swing dance, I'd love to go to whatever events or groups you participate in or just learn/practice with you! (East Coast Swing or Lindy Hop) I also just love trying new fitness classes and just recently found Pole Dancing and Bouldering!

I can sing songs and jam out with you too!
