Promote understanding, trust, and a sense of adventure
Hey there! I'm a former CS host in Manhattan. I'm an administrative assistant at a private equity firm. I'm always out and about, going to shows, running in the park, going boating, surfing, or going to new restaurants or bars.
I'm a healthy eater and I'm into fitness. I do bikram (hot) yoga and I've run 2 marathons. I'm also into anything outdoorsy (hiking, rock-climbing, ski trips, etc).
I like traveling because I like putting myself in other peoples' shoes. I like learning other languages and customs, and like to practice my spanish or french.
I've been to Spain, France, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Mali (Africa), Beijing, London, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Italy, Germany, India, Nepal, Thailand, Japan, and Singapore.
Sugarland got it right with "I ain't settling for anything less than everything". I want a taste of everything, from the high life, to the many social issues of the world. You cannot judge what you don't understand. I always welcome new perspectives.
I have a work hard, play hard mentality. Though success means nothing if you don't give back too, which is why I like to volunteer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted many people in the past, but cannot currently host (and exception being former my hosts and guests). I try to reach out to local CS'ers when I travel, even if it's just to meet for an afternoon.
I lived in a hostel when I first moved to NY. I heard about this site from my friend who owned the hostel and decided to bring the world to my doorstep and start hosting. I still keep in touch with some of my guests.
Rock climbing (the "Gunks", West Virginia, etc)
White Water rafting
Volunteering (NY Cares, Habitat for Humanity, Angelwings International)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ran the marathon on the Great Wall of China
Went Zorbing in New Zealand
Fed a kangaroo in Australia
Saw the Grand Canyon by helicopter
Stayed in a remote village in Mali, Africa with no electricity or running water.
Went running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
Teach, Learn, Share
I worked in sales for a marketing company for years. I ran a branch office and have lots of advertising, recruiting, and other business-related advice to offer.
