Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Because I find Airbnb terribly boring and sterile (sitting in one as I write this) and would much rather connect with people and experience their cities through their eyes and with their mindsets.
I hosted before the pandemic hit, really loved it and am still friends with many visitors. It also enabled me to see my hometown anew every time I showed them around.

Interessen

As a photographer I'm interested in anything that has to do with good, old fashioned analog photography and anything related to it in the arts. Also, of course, good food (but no alcohol). Live music, walking around and exploring. I'm an avid reader, too.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Just saw Kubricks 'Space Odyssey' in 70mm the other day and decided that this is my favorite movie. I also love 'Children of men' for its long camera takes and for being prescient. In terms of music I always come back to the Brian Jonestown Massacre, just love them. There is also a lot of great new music coming out of the UK; Dry Cleaning, Black Country, New Road, Working Men's Club and Porridge Radio being favorites. It's hard to pick-out a favorite book, maybe Camus' 'The Stranger". Picked up ‘How Proust can change your life’ the other day and quite enjoyed it.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Kicked my career in New York City and set up a finca in Colombia. Gave up my flat and started traveling around. Cycled from Hamburg to Morocco and back on an old mountain bike (Ok, that’s more than one thing).
