Hello world! My name is Christopher. I'm 27 and live in my quirky hometown of Eugene, Oregon, USA. A place known for the birthplace of Nike, hippies, foggy tree lined evergreen forests and colorful people who are content with the simple things in life. It would be fair to say that I'm completely in love my home however with the dawn of a new year I've realized that my entire life has been spent in one place and that there is so much more to explore in this diverse world. With my 2017 resolution I want to open myself up to distant travels, meet new people from all walks of life and to challenge myself by doing more crazy and spontaneous things outside of my cozy small town American confines. My profession is a veterinary technician. I grew up with numerous animals and for so long it was my dream to help the sick ones and so I went and made it my career. I plan on doing something different eventually but I'll always have a passion for animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I feel like the best way to explore the world is through the eyes of the very people who makeup the cities, countries and cultures from which they come from. To be able to interact with people who appreciate how diverse we has humans are and to realize that there is always something to teach learn and share in this life. As an American I know all too well that humanity is way too quick to alienate ourselves from each other based on invisible geographic boundaries.

Interests

I love running, photography, geography, animals, ,watching American sports football and basketball, collecting Random things like bottle caps and beer coasters and of course everything about travel! Also taking advantage of the acoustics in a bathroom when showering 🎼

Music is definitely one of my passions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I summited Mt. Thielsen (a steep 9,000ft snowcapped mountain overlooking beautiful Crater Lake) in the snow with no gloves on because I forgot them! Despite my frozen hands and altitude sickness I made it to the top!

Teach, Learn, Share

My friends make fun of me for constantly sharing random facts about even more random places ( think city populations, geography, history) and Not only in Oregon but the rest of the United States and even the world. I also have a ridiculously pointless knowledge of films and music. I'm a great listener and enjoy learning about what other people are passionate about and get a kick out of teaching foreigners how to speak in stereo typical American accents.
