I am from New Zealand, I was living in Calgary since June last year then in February left to spend 3 months backpacking the US and Canada.
Self-employed and working remotely with a software development company based in Denver. Have just moved to Toronto, where I will be living for the next 12 months!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First time doing couch surfing, but see it as a great way to meet the local people in all the different towns I am going through.
I am really only planning my trip a few days ahead or a single destination at time, so always keen to swap travel stories and hear of good destinations to visit.

Interests

Travel (obviously), food and drink, cooking, politics, outdoor activities (hiking, snowboarding, swimming, you name it), running and the gym.

Also (as it was what I studied) environmental sciences, water, energy and sustainability.

Black keys, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, RHCP, Led Zep, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix Of Monsters and Men, (and wait for the twist in the plot) a little Jay-z. Also Jazz and blues, and Jazz covers of pop.

Pulp Fiction, lock stock and two smoking barrles, snitch - hard to go wrong with either Tarantino or Guy Ritchie. Should probably put Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit in here considering I have technically snowboarded on Mt Mordor, and my sister was in the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped organize volunteers to respond to, and clean up the aftermath, of some major earthquakes we had in NZ.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can share my stories, I have done, and am doing a lot of travel. I have lived trough a few hundred thousand earthquakes, including a couple that took lives, saw my home town get destroyed in the process and did my bit to rebuild it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to trade travel stories and advice (especially if you're planning on visiting NZ). I can cook meals as well.
