Hello Couchsurfers!

I’m brand new to the community and can’t wait to have my first couch surfing experience with new people in new places.

I just moved to Vienna 🇦🇹 from Cape Town 🇿🇦 to start a new job, but as I’m waiting on my work permit (RWR) I’m technically on holiday. 😁

I’m easy going, open minded, respectful and considerate towards all people. Opening your home to strangers is no small ask and I believe in showing gratitude by respecting the boundaries of those who take you in.
And of course sharing a bit of banter and buying a beer🍻 or coffee ☕️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve always been open to new places, people, cultures and getting to know the world.

Usually I book airbnbs and hotels, but as I’m between jobs and keen to meet new people, this platform seems like it could be a great experience!

Interests

I love experiencing as much a possible, but I’m just as happy at home cooking an exciting meal as I’m out exploring nature.

Good people, food, and music. Also…. Wine and cheese.

We don’t really have snow in South Africa so super keen on learning to ski!

Variety is the spice to life as they (whoever they are) said.
I’m into many genres, but here’s some that stand out to me.

Music: Arctic Monkeys, Cage The Elephant, Sticky Fingers, Idles, Peach Pit, Tame Impala, Bonobo, Stephan Bodzin, Trivium (definitely had a metal phase)

Movies: Gladiator, Pulp Fiction, Yes Man, The Lobster, Catch Me If You Can, James Bond, Batman The Dark Knight, Her, Rope, Walk The Line, Step Brothers

Not a big reader, but read more technical and personal growth books.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some basics in climbing, bouldering, kiteboarding. I’m fluent in English, but my first language is Afrikaans so we can exchange some weird sounding words.

I’m from South Africa and more than happy to share stories about the people, cultures and way of living.
People from other continents seem to have a very skewed perspective of South Africa (especially the safety) but I can show you what beauty it holds and how to enjoy it without worry. 🇿🇦
