I'm a Canadian originally from the Toronto area. I studied bird behaviour for my Master's degree and now I'm traveling around the world seeing all the sights as well as doing a lot of birding :). In 2016 and early 2017 I did a 5 month trip through Asia and Australia and had an awesome time and now I'm in South America (currently Colombia). This most recent Spring I spent 4 months studying birds in the dry forests of Costa Rica and the cloud forests of Honduras.

I'd like to think I'm pretty easy-going. I enjoy going out to bars/clubs as well as going on nature hikes. I enjoy learning a lot about the history of places I go to and meeting the locals and fellow travelers.

Interests

One of my favourite things to do while traveling is going for hikes and seeing all the native wildlife that I don't normally get to see back home. I also really enjoy playing my instruments but it's a bit hard on the road since I can't really take a saxophone with me. If anyone has instruments I'm always down to jam.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy (for lack of a better name) synthpop. Stuff like CHVRCHES, Purity Ring, New Order, Tears for Fears, Broods etc. I'm also really into alternative rock as generic as that sounds. Bands like The Barenaked Ladies, The Killers, The Strokes. And I'm also into sort of indie-folksy stuff like Father John Misty, Shovels and Rope and some others. Oh also the entire Moana soundtrack.

When it comes to movies, I'm a big fan of coming of age/romantic movies like The Spectacular Now, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Her, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

My favourite book is Watership Down. While on the road I just pick up any book that has an interesting cover.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I climbed a glacier in Iceland. I also managed to keep the same flip flops for 3 months in Asia

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more than happy to teach people about biology/birds if anyone wants to come birding with me. I'm also trying to learn constellations so maybe I can teach that too after I learn some other than the big dipper. Oh also guitar (been playing for 15 years or so)!
