About Me

ABOUT ME

I like to create and I'm a big fan of walking. I like finding new things and wandering with a goal, but a very loosey goosey goal. I like a good conversation. Like, really good, "oh man, like, my mind is, like blown, man" good with less 'like's and 'man's and more thoughtful insight and maybe a few inappropriate jokes.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to stay open to things, but I'm also big on analyzing things. I think a lot and my thoughts have led me to thinking I shouldn't think so much, also, people are people, also things happen, also, accept and be happy, also there's oceans and mountains and forests and rainbows, so be excited.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to surf when I travel. My current apartment isn't really set up for hosting, but being able to host is a goal down the line.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far so good, and I'm looking forward to more chances to surf! It's a great way to meet people when you travel.

Interests

My enjoyments include but are not limited to: music, reading, writing, food (preparation and ingestion of), beverages (creation and imbibing of), fun socks, doing things, outside places, general existing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a range of spectrum of music, singer-songwriter to electric dancey stuff to jazz to brass band. Admittedly mostly stuff that falls under the title of 'indie,' e.g. Owen, St. Vincent, Spoon, Bon Iver, Foxygen, Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, Lost in the Trees, Kishi Bashi, Father John Misty.

Listing favorite books is like choosing a favorite child. I've thoroughly enjoyed David Foster Wallace's stuff, T.S. Eliot is great, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, 'The Master and Margherita' by Bulgakov, 'The Little Prince' by de Saint-Exupéry. I was an English major if that helps.

I'm also an NPR and podcast junkie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up a mountain in China and suddenly realizing that I was in the middle of a bamboo forest, in China, which was probably near the top of my list of awesome things I'd never thought I'd actually get to do in life list.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Haiti, South Korea

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Italy
