Taking a break from moving around at the minute to be in Scarborough where I'm working on my first novel!

I'm an easygoing guy with a real love of travelling and a desire to see as much of the world as possible. I got out of the military in May 2014 and since then I've made it my mission to travel and acquire new skills and perspectives on life.

My goal is to travel as much of the world as possible in the next two years in between writing.

Beyond travel I'm an avid reader, history enthusiast, cinephile, outdoorsy bod and generally a bit of a nerd. I enjoy cooking too, and will happily sort a meal for my guests.

Obviously we are down the pub for a pint. When in Yorkshire and all that.

Not a sports fan I'm afraid. It's people chasing around after balls and I don't really get it.

Amongst my favourite books are Trainspotting, Lolita, The Master and Margerita and anything by Jack Vance. I'm into popular history too and always on the lookout for an engaging account of a period or person.

In terms of music, I'm a bit of an old soul. I'm into anything from the 70's and 80's that is vaguely rock related.

My favourite movies by far are Pulp Fiction, Before Sunrise, Richard III, Ghostbusters and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension.

Slept rough on a remote Scottish island.
Walked across a glacier in Iceland.

Spent a day trying to hitchhike out of San Antonio then got rescued by a couchsurfer.
Stayed with a religious cult in Upstate New York for two weeks. Yikes.
