ABOUT ME

i'm 28 years old and have lived in london for 10 years (i grew up in the suburbs). i'm taking a year off work to travel the americas - i already travelled from toronto to buenos aires with my brother, now i'm travelling from buenos aires to puerto rico on my own. i'm an easy person to get along with, i love meeting new people and having a good time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking for places to stay and locals to meet. When I get back home in 2013 I hope to start hosting in London.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only couchsurfed once so far but have always meant to do more. Have done lots of sleeping on couches and floors across the UK when touring with my band. I also organised gigs in london and hosted bands from across the UK and also Sweden and Norway at my house. i've stayed with friends all over the world so the couchsurfing idea is very familiar to me.

Interessen

i love music and have played in bands since i was a teenager (have a look at www.myspace.com/thesiegfriedsassoon but we're on a bit of a break at the moment).

i love to watch live music and DJs and listen to all sorts of music from around the world. i really love it when friends in other countries show me stuff that we don't get to hear much in the UK! At the moment i'm listening to a lot of Jamaican dancehall and Bruce Springsteen.

i watch lots of movies, especially from the 60s and 70s - both classics and weird stuff.

i like to watch football and i support leeds united (don't laugh or say 'who?'). i also play a bit - i can do a job at left back or as a defensive midfielder.

i also obviously love travel and experiencing new things!

movies - all the big ones: sergio leone, alfred hitchcock, martin scorcese, woody allen and lots and lots of guilty pleasures. i also have a soft spot for the pixar film ratatouille

music - everything from neil young to cornelius, ennio morricone to vybz kartel, tinariwen to weezer

books - my attention span's not what it used to be but i try to read as much as i can, currently i'm enjoying bleak house by charles dickens

catching a 40lb (18kg) yellowfin tuna in long island, bahamas and eating it as sushi as soon as we got back to dry land

i studied maths at university so can help your kids with their homework or maybe help you with your tax return.

i can cook a mean yaki udon.

i can tell you about lots of good music i've heard and movies i've seen.

i can fill in at left-back if your football/soccer team is short of a player.
