ABOUT ME

Naturally extroverted and outgoing, but I can be a bit quiet until I've warmed up in new situations. Friendly, anyway. Originally from WI, I spent some time in the military and got stationed in Fort Hood, TX. Towards the end of that contract, I began questioning the whole military-industrial complex thing, hierarchies and assumed authorities in general and the fundamentalist christian beliefs in which I had been raised. A good friend in the military referred me to a documentary called Zeitgeist, and I emerged from that scene a skeptic, anarchistic, vegan, peace activist. Some of those descriptions still stick - none with an abrasive or aggressive conversational approach. But, I guess it's fair that you know. Especially as a surfer, I remain respectful, tactful, and eternally grateful.

I've always had a strong penchant for the arts, particularly music, and I used to write a lot of songs. It's been some time, though. I'd like to discover that part of me again; it's when I feel the most alive (completing a song or a poem).

I want to leave a better world behind than this one of violence, patriarchy, and inequality. I think we can do better as a species. It is my opinion the more human connections we can establish, regarding each other as brothers and sisters, seeing our oneness more than our separateness, that we begin to break down the walls of mistrust and fear. It's what draws me most to CS - even more than the booku-loads I will be saving in hotel costs. In short, I am anxiously looking forward to meeting and building a lasting friendship with you!

兴趣

I have a strong penchant for the arts - namely music and poetry, as a blocked songwriter trying to find his way back to his craft. Theatre, concerts and art museums also have huge soft spots in my soul. I'm also wildly in love with nature. I love star-gazing, hiking in the woods, camping, sitting by waterfalls and contemplating this existence. Lastly, I have a little hint of snob in me when it comes to craft anything - microbrews, wines, salsa, soaps, baked goods, handmade instruments, etc. That level of excellence, complexity and personal character that only comes from soul poured into the making of a product - Man! I can't get enough of it!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

1. Visiting the Ozarks. Both times. Nothing like it!
2. Psilocybin mushroom trip (spiritual as opposed to recreational)
3. Currently, I'm road-tripping in a last-ditch effort to rediscover myself and my songwriting talents that have lied dormant for too long. I've pared down my possessions to what will fit in my Yaris hatchback, and I'm setting sail - letting the winds of intuition guide me with not much more than a rough outline. Just gonna sail on and not drop any anchors until the winds stop blowing.
