I’ve hosted many travelers and musicians throughout the years, but way before I knew of couch surfers. I am an artist, I love playing music and traveling has always been a passion of mine. Sometimes having a plan and sometimes just going for it! For the last 4 years, if my travel was by plane, I bought my ticket less than 2 days before I flew out. Some say crazy, I say exciting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the things I find most fascinating is the people and community you meet while you are traveling. You can travel through a place and just be on the surface, or you can travel to a place and create friendships within the community that last for a lifetime. Being able to meet people along my journey will not only bring me closer to places for hiking, beauty spots, art galleries and so on, but also gives a true connection to the place and people! Sharing stories and hearing where people are coming from and where they desire to venture to within their minds and/or world is a passion of mine. Let's keep spreading the travel itch inspiration and share our worlds with each other!

Interests

Basically anything outdoors. If I haven't tried it, I would love to at some point. Hiking, backpacking, scuba diving, rock climbing, snorkeling, art, beautiful food, dancing, and historic areas showing off its old architecture and wonder.

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate most styles of music. folk, bluegrass, drumming, anything with strings or something I can dance to, will all bring a huge smile to my heart!

Gotta love a good comedy and I most likely know every line of Spaceballs.

Books fall into Goddess rising, field guides and herbal concoction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

JUST ONE? I was in Costa Rica and climbed the center of a strangling fig tree, the entire center was hollow. The base was close to12' in diameter and by the time you reached the top of the trunk you had to twist and squeeze your way through. It opened up to the beauties of darkness overlooking the ocean, and mountain towns of the valley! This was incredible and unforgettable!

Went snowboarding in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, New Years in Amsterdam, scuba diving w sharks and a giant manta ray off Isla del Cano in Costa Rica, have been to all US states minus US territories, lived in Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, Alaska, Montana, and if 1-3 months count Oregon, Vermont, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico and Hawaii, surfed in Panama, went on a random tour with a friends band through some Canadian islands, lived off grid since 2008 in primitive structures and cabins half of which I helped build, and I live in the most beautiful place I’ve so far experienced-the Upper Peninsula of Michigan within a few miles of the largest fresh water lake in the world-Lake Superior. Our experiences create who we are and I am so grateful for everyone I’ve met along my path.

Teach, Learn, Share

What to share music? Drumming, ukulele or singing? I can teach you a little about working with copper. Work in the herb, flower or veg gardens? I would like to find a fire spinning community to expand my knowledge and excitement of fire. Aerial silks- into it and love it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Living off grid and its simplicity and beauty. Showing off the glorious places to go hiking, skiing, swimming, backpacking that my area has to offer. Not to mention all the good restaurants and brewery options.
