Overview
About Me
I am Chrysa and I live in Athens, Greece. I graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the University of Athens two years ago and I've been working as a teacher since then. As a student I joined my University's drama club for a year and we did our own production of a play based on the book "the Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury. It was such an inspiring experience that I've tried to have theatre in my life ever since. I am currently part of another drama club and I go to the theatre as often as I can. I enjoy learning languages, so as to be able to communicate with people and to read my favourite poets and authors in their original language, which brings us to the other big love of my life, books! In 2015 I spent a semester in Wroclaw, Poland as an Erasmus student which was how I found out my passion for travelling. It's a very big part of my life and I'm always looking forward to new adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was on Erasmus, I travelled from Poland to Stockholm, where I was hosted by an amazing couchsurfer. It was an unforgettable experience, one that made me realise that hanging out with locals is an irreplaceable part of the travelling experience. That' s why I love couchsurfing and I can't wait for the next chance to do it again.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like rock music but I enjoy all music genres. The Doors , Florence and the Machine, Porcupine Tree, Alt-j , Rage against the Machine and Dead can Dance are among my favourite bands. I particularly enjoy going to festivals and concerts with my friends. My favourite movie of all time is Cinema Paradiso and I love every movie by Jean-Luc Godard.Other movies I like are das Leben der Anderen, La vita è bella, The White Ribbon, Casablanca, Psycho and Revolutionary Road. I have a thing for classic Roman Literature and some of the works I love are the Aeneid by Virgil and Ovid's Metamorphoses. Dido Sotiriou is my favourite greek author. Another book I like a lot is the Animal Farm by George Orwell.
