Do not stay with male hosts. Not even if they have good reviews. There are a horrifying number of women on this site that have been assaulted and raped by male hosts. The majority do not report it as they are scared that their positive rating will be affected. Fuck that. Please, if you cannot find a female host to stay with book a hostel or Airbnb instead. IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK.

I think it's a great way to meet people, share stories and have a good time! Hosting has given me the opportunity to share what I love most about my city with new and exciting people, but it's also opened my eyes to what else is out there. It's great to hear about what it's actually like to travel in other countries instead of having to read hundreds of internet blogs about them instead :)

I get a lot of emails from people that essentially want a hotel room free of charge. Sorry, but that's not me - AirBnb is what you're looking for. Please send me a little information about yourself and why you are visiting London. I only respond to formal requests with exact dates on them too! I get around 20/30 requests every day so private messages are read and then forgotten :(

If you are going to a conference/starting a new job/looking for a job and are just looking for a place to stay then please look for another host more suited to your needs.
