Overview
About Me
I play guitar, bass and sing in various projects and music is a huge part of my life. When I’m not playing music, I work a 9-5 job, enjoy bouldering, playing DnD, exploring odd places from Atlas Obscura and going to art galleries. I'm vegan. I won't preach about it unless you ask me where I get my protein from. I would also ask that you don’t bring meat, fish, eggs or dairy into the house. I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan and generally love anything Sci-fi related.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting new people and hearing new stories. Couchsurfing also has a way of helping me discover new things in my own city with every person who visits.
I’ve met some really great friends of the years and some of them I see more often than the friends in my own city.
If you are going to request to stay with me, please mention something on my profile in your request.
Interests
I've played the guitar for over 20 years. I don’t currently have a band, but over the years I've been in a post rock band, screamo band, 90's rock covers band, jazz funk covers band, acoustic folk duo, live "electronic" project and was an open mic host for several years. Even with all of that experience, I'm still the worst person to ask "Can you play this song?" unless it's 00's emo songs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music that I like could go on forever. Favourite bands are probably Delta Sleep, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Tricot, Four Year Strong, Taking Back Sunday, Zola Blood, Tiny Moving Parts, Alexisonfire and Funeral For a Friend.
My favourite movie is Leon (The Professional).
Books - The Kraken, Vermillion Sands, The Circle
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I have seen was when I went camping in QingHai province in China. Waking up on top of the Tibetan plateu with my friends and just seeing the amazing view of the mountains.
I have to add a second amazing thing. I visited Chernobyl and it's an incredible place.
Teach, Learn, Share
This is quite a weird prompt for me because teaching/learning something usually takes more than just a few days but I used to be a guitar teacher, so I could teach a bit of guitar. It might be a bit hard to keep up the practice if you’re travelling. I also speak Chinese (mandarin) so could teach you a few words but it’s definitely not an easy language to learn.
When I’m hosting I’m happy to hang out and explore the city with you even if that’s seeing the sights I’ve already seen. The conversations along the way are almost always more interesting than the sights themselves.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’ve got a bunch of interesting stories and I know everyone says that, but once you hear mine I promise it will be in the top 5 most interesting.
