ABOUT ME

I am 28 years old and have been living in NYC for 4 years. I never pass up the chance to visit a new place or meet new people. I am a beach bum at heart but love the energy of big cities.
I grew up outside of Boston and spent my summers on Cape Cod. I've lived in Spain and Italy and have traveled throughout Europe, South America, North America, Australia and Africa.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The source of anger and hate is ignorance. The only way to spread understanding is to get to know people from other places and see that we are all the same.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have friends who've done it and LOVED it and have recently met some great Couch Surfers who were visiting NYC. I love showing people my city and learning about theirs.

Interests

Things that make me happy: cheese, wine, beer, friends, new restaurants, the beach, a good book, new experiences and interesting conversations.
While I love to have a good time, I also try to live a (somewhat) healthy lifestyle. I run a lot and just completed my first marathon. I often do long weekend runs in the park followed by boozy brunches (I have a weakness for mimosas and bloody marys).

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a bookworm, but the books I've recently read are: When a Crocodile Eats the Sun, What is the What, Three Cups of Tee, Eat, Love, Pray (peer pressure- everyone's reading it). I will read and LOVE anything by Hunter S. Thompson, Thomas Wolfe, David Sedaris or Augustine Burroughs.
I am also a big fan of live music - any live music- especailly, jazz, funk, reggae, blue grass, folk...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed one of the highest active volcanos in the world (Cotopaxi in Ecuador), went hang gliding over Rio, attended a Rugby World Cup Game in France, went zip-lining in Costa Rica, rode a camel in Morocco, ran the New York City Marathon...
