About Me

Hi everyone! Where to begin? I grew up on a farm in Ireland and I moved to England for university. I am the eldest of six kids, which has shaped me into the person I am today in a huge way. My friends also have helped embrace the quirkier more eccentric aspects of my personality. Currently living in France, which I love travelling from place to place mainly with workaway.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to travel. I really want to experience other cultures, discover new foods, music and activities and meet wonderful interesting people... I believe Couchsurfing will help me experience the world in the best way possible.

Interests

I have many, many interests. Travelling, cooking, reading, hiking and exploring other cultures are just a few. I really want to learn an instrument, how to meditate and how to do yoga also haha! I've also started climbing which I enjoy a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is extremely varied. Including rock, house and new classical. I go through periods of listening to a particular band or musician for a few days them moving on to another!! For example last week it was Agnes Obel, this week I'm rediscovering Canned Heat.

I love films with edge and grit! My favourite directors are Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch and Martin Scorsese.

I love reading too. JRR Tolkien, Aldous Huxley, and Caitlin Moran are some of my favourite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think giving up facebook for a more simple life, in a world obsessed with the website is pretty impressive!

Volunteering with deprived children with special needs on a week long holiday is pretty amazing. The charity, Newman Holiday Trust (look it up!), is the amazing aspect, not me. These children are from disadvantaged backgrounds and would not have had the opportunity to have a week like this if it weren't for the charity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a qualification teaching English as a foreign language and I am more than willing to help anyone looking to improve their English.

I want learn everything anyone is willing to teach me! Languages, instruments, cookery skills, grape picking, skydiving, yoga, etc. We as people can learn so much from each other if we are just willing to try. Willing I am!!

I'm willing to share everything I have. I'm not religious but I do believe that "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is a marvellous way to live life. I'll share my belongings, my own life experiences, my abilities and knowledge with anyone who needs or asks.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I said before I am willing to share everything I can give. A sunny disposition, happy attitude, excellent child minding skills, decent cookery skills, and funny stories about growing up on a farm in a large, rural Irish family are just a few things I can share. Also I'll always invite you to join me on any nights out exploring the city.
