I'm a New York-born fish who flopped around Californian water for a while. I live in New York, but am doing some work with cooperatives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico until January 2015.
My best friends would say I'm type A and neurotic, hopefully in a charming way. They're my best friends, so they seem to put up with it. Actually, that's what I say about myself. My best friends are really nice and generous people, so they would probably say I'm kind and funny and smart even if none of those things are true.
U.S.centrically, that climate change and racism are our most important problems. Or capitalism. And culture governs everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Like everyone, I've had really great couchsurfing experiences and they were totally different from one another. I've just surfed twice, and look forward to doing it more. I've met companions for wandering around Cambridge (MA), dancing salsa cubana, and visiting ancient ruins.
BEST COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Naked on Wreck Beach in Vancouver
My favorite things to do are to cook, to feel productive, to be out and about in dense cities, to eat, to drink coffee and beer, to do yoga, to spend time with close friends (what a stupidly obvious answer). Sometimes I love to take big road trips and car camp (and make elaborate meals) or travel across country by train. I love to see new parts of the country and it makes me feel like a new person when I do.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: The Fall, Do the Right Thing
Books: Song of Solomon
Music: Billy Joel, "world" music like Manu Chao or anything in Portugese for whatever reason, good percussion stuff, some more classic rock, a small scattering of contemporary rock, some hip hop, tinny sounding old blues
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I drove about 800 miles or so down Baja California when I was a new college freshman with two people I knew and seven people I didn't. On the way down we came within a split second of a horrific car crash with a coach bus on the 1 highway; it was impossible for us to make it out alive but somehow we did. The next day we reached a pristine beach on the sea of Cortez with glassy blue water, mountains rising up from the sea and roadside fish tacos in our bellies. My to-be best friend and I got naked and splashed around all day.
Another time I camped with friends on a big rock that looked out over Moab, UT and pooped in a ceilingless outhouse while gazing at the stars.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach cooking techniques, grammar (Spanish, English, and probably French), how to take a bike apart and pack it for shipping, how to see the US by Amtrak
Countries I’ve Lived In
Argentina, France, United States
