About Me

I am a mother of 3 children and have been married to my husband for 28 years. Our only child living at home now is our 16 years old. We have two dogs and two cats. We live in a small town that is right on the interstate. I love to go hiking with my dog Max and spend lots of time going to athletic events for my son. I have done some backpacking and love to be outside, having the summers off is really amazing to get in a lot of traveling. I do a lot of traveling by myself because my husband likes to spend his vacation time hunting pheasants and quail so he doesn't take a lot of time off in the summer when I have my vacation which works for us. My oldest daughter and I do a lot of things together when she can get time off from work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Working in Education is not very lucrative but it does give me the summers off and I like to travel and feel that couch surfing will allow me to travel on a budget and meet new people around the world.

Interests

My dream someday is to thru-hike the PCT and to see all the National Parks in America. I used to run a lot but since I have gotten older hiking is my go to. I am just getting into yoga because I feel amazing after doing yoga,

  • music festivals
  • yoga
  • running
  • outdoor activities
  • hiking
  • backpacking
  • quilting

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to go to go to concerts and have been to so many. I went to Bonnaroo with my son and daughter about 3 years ago and even though I was one of the older people there, I absolutely loved the atmosphere and loved being there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove to California with my youngest son and did 3 days on the John Muir Trail. I started having Attitude Sickness which forced us off the trail but still had an amazing time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a considerate and fun person but also an introvert. I can be outgoing and the life of a party but prefer to have quiet nights at home. I am good at having an engaging conversation or just being in a room together with each of us doing our own thing. I am comfortable with quiet and I don't feel the need to fill the quiet with conversation. I feel that I get along with most people and feel that the key to being around others is to find a common interest and getting to know that person and would rather talk to the person about their interests than in talking about mine.
