I am currently wanting to be in the flow of life moment by moment.

ABOUT ME

I am a continually evolving human, open to the magic and mysteries of life. I love learning and am intrigued by the amazing differences and similarities between us all.
I live simply and spent the majority of my life growing up on a farm and then living on a homestead in the Kootenays to raise my three kids. I love my work and want to help even more people so moved to Victoria. I have a small garden in the back yard growing what we can to eat. I'm a big fan of supporting local farmers and businesses.
I love the outdoors and backpacking. I hiked the West Coast Trail two years ago and loved it! I'm planning to hike the North Coast Trail with friends this summer.

PHILOSOPHY

Live simply so that others may simply live.
I am learning to spend more time 'Being' vs. "Doing".
I have respect and compassion for all of us here on planet earth, though I may not agree with lots of it.
Relationships with others is what life is all about and what makes life worth living.
Everything around us is alive and full of meaning when we stop to take a look.
Love is the basis of all that is.
Acceptance of what is releases all suffering.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are look forward to hosting people visiting Victoria who love nature and the outdoors. I am always happy to share the beautiful area that we live in with others from all over the world. We are hoping to do more traveling in the coming months.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new in the realm of official CouchSurfing and am looking forward to meeting interesting and wonderful people from all over the world. Unofficially, I started CouchSurfing back in the early 80's when I traveled to Europe and stayed with friends in Ireland, France and Sweden. My Swedish friend and I have stayed connected all these years and she brought her son here to visit us two years ago. It was awesome and is so great to still be connected after all these years.
I've also CouchSurfed with a number of friends on different trips to California as well, enjoying laughter, fun and hospitality in varieties of great places.

Música, películas y libros

I like all kinds of music depending on what mood I'm in. Especially alternative rock, folk and rhythm.
Favorite all time movies: Harold and Maude, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Forest Gump, Fried Green Tomatoes, Star Wars (the original series)
I read various types of books including A New Earth, The Glass Castle, Pillars of the Earth, The Omnivore's Dilemma and whatever strikes my fancy at the time.

I did a 10 day/100 mile whitewater rafting trip down the Green River in Utah with friends, sharing the canyon only with the birds, sheep and other wild animals around (counting my friends of course!)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I have done some gardening and food preserving in my day. I do a lot of cooking from scratch and have made many things from yogurt and cheese to bread and pies.

I also teach about awareness and being present in mind and body, though only if someone is interested. I find it fascinating everywhere I go.
