About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Road tripping across the country

ABOUT ME

My favorite word is aardvark. My least favorite word is NO. The word yes turns me on. Ugly hands are a turn off. My favorite sound is the sound of my dog's tail hitting the hardwood floor when I get home after a long day. I hate the sound of screaming children in malls. My favorite curse word is fuck. If I could have any other job it would be professional base jumping. I would never want to be an executioner or a data input specialist. And, if I believed in Heaven, I would hope that upon getting to the Pearly Gates, God would say to me, "You did your best".

PHILOSOPHY

Personal Philosophy? Hmmm. I think that people should live as they like so long as it isn't hateful. I'm generally a happy person and I like to make people feel valued. My personal philosophy is "you're okay". I think I've learned that when people think, hey my feelings are valuable and I'm a good person they are much better off. Also, shitty time pass.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm taking a cross country road trip this fall and, while I'm glad to be doing it on my own, I'd like to make the trip a bit less lonely by meeting new people. I believe it will give me a better feel for each city and I believe in bettering myself through personal exchanges. Plus, I love to drink and laugh!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This will be my first time using CouchSurfing and I couldn't be more excited. I've heard great things about it from friends of mine that have used the site before.

Interests

I'm a laid back person who has moved around a lot since college. My interests are many and varying. I like good beer, books that grab you within the first ten pages, sports, the city of New Orleans, stimulating but polite debate, music, liberals and queers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Julie Andrews. Couldn't tell you why. Love and Basketball is a good movie and so is Girl Interrupted. I was obsessed with Davy Crockett and Land Before Time as a kid. My favorite music is folk/americana/newer indie ensemble music. A lot of great music is happening right now and I'm just trying to keep up. As for books, I got rid of cable tv because I stopped reading as much as I like to. I don't belong to any book clubs or anything, but I do spend a few hours a week at my local bookstores picking up books with good covers. I'm a sucker for good advertising.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Building houses for Katrina victims in New Orleans was the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of. Helping a man who lost everything in a minute build and own his first house is an amazing opportunity.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a queer person, I feel I have a lot to bring to the table. I hope to meet people who can teach me things about gardening, cooking, organic alternatives, maybe even help me to learn to play the guitar that I've just bought.
