About Me

Trying to learn the ukulele and enjoying my youth

Hey guys and girls my name is Chris. In honour of this being a self summary, I'm going to try and describe in interesting but short bullet points

* I'm a half Indonesian/half Australian, but I grew up in Sydney, Australia for most of my life
* I recently finished my Honours in Horticultural Science, I'm still unsure what I want to do for a job. At the moment I might pursue a career in the wine industry
* At the moment I work in a bar and also as a waiter to fund my travels
* I'm pretty passionate about sport and I follow and play many
* I laugh at my own jokes
* This is probably self explanatory but I love beer, not only is it tasty but it improves your pool playing ability, your foreign language skills and your karaoke skills
* A friend to dogs and cats everywhere
* I love music, I try go to concerts and gigs as often as I can. Unfortunately this never really translated to being good at playing musical instruments

I'm not exactly a philosophical person but I do usually like to go with the flow, however this is pretty much just a euphemism for laziness

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't been as active as I would have liked to be on here but when I'm free I usually offer a place to stay for people. I hope to contribute some more if and when I get my own place again.

Done some hosting and done some surfing and got a few lifts to places as well with couchsurfers. You meet a pretty broad spectrum of people from the quiet to just outright strange, but the world is better for it

Sport - mainly rugby union, Aussie Rules Football, Football (Soccer) and cricket. I've played these sports at many stages of my life and I still play Rugby on my Saturdays, referee Football on Saturdays and cricket during the summer. Believe it or not this hasn't increased my fitness....Maybe I should lay of the beer.....NAHT!

Music - I've been to known to dabble in musical instruments every now and then and go to gigs and concerts

Occaisionally Books

Travelling (obviously) and other cultures (perhaps obviously as well)

Making obscure pop culture references

I've been known to make my own beer from time to time

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got called a dickhead 5 times in one day from 5 different people, 2 of whom I didn't know personally and all from different incidents and all unintentional.

Gatecrashing a major music festival of which major planning went in too and getting to see one of my favourite bands The Arctic Monkeys for FREE while looking at all the suckers who paid hundreds of dollars.

Travelling on an overcrowded dhow in torrential rain and what must have been 6 foot waves in Mozambique.

Hitchiking along the East Coast from Sydney to Melbourne for the hell of it
