I am a Secondary Education and History double major, so once I graduate I will be teaching high school history, hopefully in Chicago, IL (where my school is).

I haven't done extensive traveling yet, but the little that I've been able to do have really been wonderful experiences that left me itching for new places and adventures.

I'm very much a talkative person. I love history (note the major ;)), and I also really love reading. I am a bit of a shopaholic, but college expenses have definitely kept that in check. I've spent a semester abroad in Ireland and have had a wonderful time with the culture and the people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to couch serving, but I've heard rave reviews and figured I would try it out for myself. I love all of the traveling that I've been able to do, and I really think that being able to stay with someone from the city really offers the best insight into the culture- plus the best places to go and how to get there!

Interests

History, museums, art exhibits, CASTLES (we have none in the states, and I am loving the beauty of the ones over in Europe!).

Basically, anything that gives me insight into a culture and its people is game for me. I really love new experiences and am open to adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of alternative music and hip-hop and pop.

I love movies and really don't have a particular favorite- I am terrified of scary movies though!

I'm also all over the place with the types of books I like, but currently, my favorite book is "The Penelopiad" by Margaret Atwood

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a bit of a geek, so academically I recently got excepted into a competitive seminar in my school and am still in a bit of shock over it.

Travel wise, I have seen a lot of scenic Ireland and can honestly say that I have never seen countryside more beautiful!

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I'm an education major in Chicago, I can give a lot of insight into the American education system and American history. I know a few card games that I can teach. There might be other things, but I really can't think of them off the top of my head!

I would love to learn about the hosts' cultures and cities in order to get the best feel for the place. I'm an open book, so anything that seems cool to learn would make the stay more enjoyable
