About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of London and have loved travelling from an early age. The first flight I ever took alone was when I was about 7 - albeit accompanied by an air hostess! - to visit my German family in Hamburg.

I work in advertising/marketing as a project manager; I went freelance last year to make more room in my life for freedom and adventure. I'm hoping I can find a way to work remotely I'm a keen amateur photographer and completed an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography. I'm hoping my travels will inspire me to take more photos and share more stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people! Also I've come to the realisation that whilst I'm happy to travel alone, trips are always so much better when you can tap into the knowledge of a local to really get to know the place you're visiting. I'm lucky enough to have had some wonderful experiences already, with people who have shown me their hometown.

Interests

History - particularly the Second World War era, and 1950s-1960s America.

Music, Movies, and Books

My heroines include Marilyn Monroe and Debbie Harry (maybe I have a thing about blondes?!) so their work is up there as some of my favourites.

My musical tastes are fairly eclectic; The Beach Boys, Sinatra, ACDC, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Queen, Led Zeppelin, classical music, Garbage to name but a few.

Favourite film of all time is Gone With the Wind. I'm a bit obsessed with the Deep South and have loved what I've seen of it so far.

Books: The Crimson Petal and the White, Dracula, Into the Wild, Tracks, Wild. I mostly read non-fiction these days, despite having studied English Literature at university.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
