I have always loved travel and meeting new people. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area (northern California) and moved to New York City and have been living here for 26 years. I'm married to an Italian, raising our daughter. Soon we can return to a more carefree lifestyle :).

I'm applying for Italian/EU Citizenship, so plan to be in Europe quite a bit, possibly relocate there as a home base, but hoping to see much more of the world, especially Asia. Another place I may relocate to is somewhere in Asia.

I was trained as an architect (finished my Masters), moved into fashion design for a bit (why I came to NYC), then practiced classic graphic design professionally before recently moving into User Experience in Technology. I tend to travel looking through the lens of architecturally significant places.

I've never really enjoyed seeing new places in a just landmarks 'tourist' way. I think famous places are famous for a reason, but there is so much more to visiting a place, so the community vibe feels very right for me.
