About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Who knows what my mission is?

ABOUT ME

I am travelling through North America at the moment, hiking and road-tripping round the States and Canada. I'm Tasmanian, but have been living in Melbourne and am soon moving to Canberra for a new job. I've studied politics and French at Uni, and wrote my thesis on whaling. I love Tassie and think that anyone who comes to Australia should try and make it down there. As for my personality, I think I am fairly excitable and enthusiastic.

PHILOSOPHY

This is a tricky one... but I think I live my life to learn, enjoy myself and make some kind of difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just joined couchsurfing, so I haven't participated much yet! But I'm keen to get involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hopefully after my travels through Canada, and get back to Australia, I'll have some experiences to write about.

Interests

I'm a pretty keen bushwalker and love to travel. I'm also a bit of a nerd - I love to talk about politics and current affairs. I also love playing games like trivial pursuit!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. Books that I've read lately that I've really liked include On Beauty by Zadie Smith, The God of Small Things, Secret River by Kate Grenville and the Color Purple. Movies - The Others and Notes on a Scandal. I like a bunch of different kinds of music from Martha Wainwright to Paul Kelly to the Rolling Stones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've just spent a month hiking the Appalachian Trail in the Autumn and Winter - it was pretty amazing seeing the Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina and Georgia covered in snow. Although it was bloody freezing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, lately I've learnt to empty half the stuff I've packed before I head off on a trip. And I still don't use most of it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
