Update September 2025 - unable to host as travelling

I love travelling (don't we all) but haven't been able to for a long time as I had kids to look after and not much money. I lived in Germany for a few years and have been lucky enough to go some different countries when I was younger. I also went to China in 2012 but not to a touristy place which was amazing and am looking forward to visiting lots of new places. I'd also like to host people through this website as this seems like an excellent idea and I can't think of a better way to see the world than to meet locals and find out the differences and similarities we have.
An update to this is that in 2023 I packed up my belongings and have moved to Bosnia to be near my son's family as he and his wife had a baby and who wants to stay in the rat race when I could be here and love my granddaughter......a no brainer!

This idea seems an excellent one as the world to me is people and staying with people rather than some impersonal hotel is just such a good plan. It is good to meet new people and I am excited about the thought of hosting as well. I recently stayed in Barcelona via Airbnb which was good but this is a reciprocal thing and seems so much better going back to the old way of bartering. Happy travels!

A quick addition to this....I've actually hosted a few people in the UK and also one guy in Bosnia but I think some reviews got lost when the app updated a few years ago 🤷🏼

Musica, film e libri

Too much music to choose from, I like all sorts from dubstep to classical, rock to pop, dance , hip-hop, just about anything - music is to happiness what breathing is to life! Films I like are also too many to list, again they just have to be good. I guess my top ten would include Aliens, The Green Mile, The Usual Suspects, anything Tarantino, anything Ridley Scott, Up - oh there are too many to list! Books - I'll read anything but I do particularly enjoy Terry Pratchett, I enjoy factual and fictional and I'm currently interested in learning more about the Balkans since moving here.

Hmmm well I did do a tai chi display at a local fair which was cool and scary. My trip to China was amazing as just so different there.... More amazing stuff to come hopefully!

An eager open disposition to learn about new places and meet new people. I can cook pretty well so would be happy to do that, and I could probably teach them some yoga as well!
