Hey couch surfers! We're a couple (Claire and John) who live in Philadelphia and both grew up in the area. We're open minded, adventurous and hoping to have fun wherever we travel.

We’re currently renovating our house, so while we do have a couch some weekends, it’s pretty cramped at the moment, and we should have space to host again by the fall

Interesses

Despite living in the city, we like to get out, hike, and be active. We have a large, friendly pit-lab mix named Krimpet who is a huge cuddler.

John was a chef for 10 years, and loves eating, as well as making off-the-beaten-path food recommendations around the city. You might even get a meal out of him if he happen to be cooking family style for our friends that night. Claire loves sewing and textiles, and will teach anyone to knit if they have an interest and an hour to spare.

Music is a huge part of our lives and you can always find us at shows. If our jobs allowed it, we would be at festivals all summer. From jazz to The Dead, old country and Dylan, John can talk about music for hours has a great record collection we love to share.

Claire majored in Lit in college (it seemed like a good idea at the time) and reads whenever time allows for it. Recent favorites: The Wind-up Bird Chronicles, The Buried Giant, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan Novels

We love to talk about Philly and help others explore the city. We both grew up here and find new things to do and be involved with all the time.

We are just starting to be able to travel outside of the states and are excited to learn about new places and meet people. John especially likes to learn about customs around cultivating and eating food.
