Meet new people, see new places, experience new things...
I'm an Aussie gone walkabout. I spent the last year living and working in Spain. And I've just moved to Panama with my boyfriend. I'm currently working as an English teacher, exploring the city day by day and attempting to make new friends and settle-in here.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have only couchsurfed a couple of times. I also attended several meetups in Paris, France. Am hoping to meet some people in Panama through groups and meetups here.
Am still relatively new to the CouchSurfing community. I CouchSurfed a little in France and attended some activities in Paris. Am hoping to get more involved here in Panama.
Cooking, art, music, languages, rock climbing - not so much these days but I'd like to get back into it, hiking, dance...
- scuba diving
- rock climbing
- language exchange
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: "Amelie", "The Princess Bride", "Les Intouchables", "American Beauty"
Music: A bit of everything - mostly prefer indie and hip hop though... (Eg: Sufjan Stevens, Jose Gonzalez, Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest, Ugly Duckling, Florence + The Machine, Wax Taylor, Nujabes and so on and so forth.) Also love some cheesy pop - Beyonce anyone?
Books: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "The Beach"...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking to Fumaca do Sossego in Lencois, Brasil, then jumping from a 10m-odd high ledge overhanging the pool below.
Watching the sunset at Ipanema with beers, pizza and good company.
Sailing to Panama City from Cartagena, Colombia.
Hanging out in Plaza del Chorro in Bogota, and meeting locals.
Scuba diving in Colombia, Honduras and Mexico.
Trekking to Ciudad Perdida in Colombia.
Teach, Learn, Share
Language exchange. Don't get me wrong - I teach English for a profession so I'm not into dishing out free classes but I'm happy to practice speaking English with others and share my culture with them.
I'm also big on cooking. I'm be no means a professional but I love to coo with and for others. I love trying new foods, and learning how to cook new recipes - especially local ones.
