One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my 24th birthday, in a cramped bathroom in the backpacker's district of Ho Chi Minh City, a foreign prostitute that had just finished peeing in the middle of the bathroom floor, high-kicked me with her stiletto heel for telling someone not to step in her pee. I have a permanent 6 inch battle scar across my chest to prove it. Epic birthday.

I haven't really had a chance to host any couchsurfers or couchsurf myself, but I have hosted a party in Portland which I posted to the couchsurfing activities board. To my surprise, many couchsurfers showed up! They all bought their own booze and food and were very friendly, interesting, and fun. I met some friends for keeps and would totally do it again. I definitely recommend one of these parties for anyone who can't quite host or doesn't need to couchsurf--great way to meet fellow travelers and swap stories.
