Overview
About Me
Hi everyone, I’m Clara and I’m a bit of a clumsy traveler.
I traveled a lot as a kid with my family, but I was probably too young to really appreciate it. Then university kept me “stuck” for a while because of exams, and now that I’m finally done, I need to make up for lost time.
Lately I’ve had an unstoppable urge to travel, and in 2025 I took my first two solo trips (Japan and England) and now I definitely have to keep going 😍
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I have this crazy desire to travel and challenge myself. When I visit a place, I’m not really interested in just seeing the cities, I want to experience them through the people who live there.
Right now I’m in England, which I had already visited twice about 13 years ago, but this time I came back to meet people and create real connections.
I’m also tired of staying in my comfort zone. One of my lifelong struggles has been learning new languages, and that has held me back a lot. Now I’ve decided to just go for it, because in the end, you only really learn by doing.
Interests
I’m a very curious person, so I have lots of small hobbies and interests. The ones that excite me the most right now are cooking and dancing (balfolk and tango).
The next ones on my list to explore more are sewing and climbing
- tango
- cooking
- martial arts
- japan
- sewing
- balfolk
- repairing things
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some Japanese people, even though we did not understand or speak each other’s language, were incredibly kind and sweet. They simply told me to follow them, while I had no idea where I was going, and they ended up taking me to a local festival in that small town. Since they could not explain it with words, they showed me instead.
I was truly moved.
