About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live a life worth living, experince as much of joie de vivre (joy of life) as I may, because life may not be perfect in the moment, but you have to admit... it's a beautiful thing.

ABOUT ME

I am a student of life, human philosophy and psychology, but mostly I'm gearing up to take worldly adventures and attend College. I work both in the restaurant business (which is just a job) and as a stage manager for the local theater company (which is more than a job). I pass the days writing, reading, dancing, living. I can feel at home hiking in the middle of the Alps or going to the San Fransisco Ballet. And shortly I am about to take a taste of Europe (Greece, Italy and France), which I'm sure will bring a greater hunger for world travel.

I grew up in Virginia, but was raise by parents from the West Coast. I was home-schooled up until the time I went to High School.

Traveling is something that I feel is natural, since I moved around a lot as a child. Once I spent six months on the road, traveling in an airstream all up and down, back and across the US. I am still discovering what I want to do with my life. All I know is that it will involve a bit of theater, a bit of English, and a bit of mythology with a huge topping brilliant!

PHILOSOPHY

With an open mind I think a person can get along with just about anyone. We all hold common grounds with each other, and I believe that it is important for us to find that ground. And, a cup of tea never hurts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now all I can do is buy a cup of coffee for a fellow traveler, but when I settle down I'll always have my sofa open.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not yet experienced cough surfing at either end, but with my current adventure approaching I hope to, as well as meet some wonderful people.

Interests

I love dancing. I have since I was five in my first Ballet class. But dance isn't my only love.

I adore reading a good book, and capturing moments with a my camera. I feel at home in theaters and running to the edge of the world. On rainy days you'll always find me drinking tea, or watching a funny show. I can't wait to see new places, or meet new people and most of all have legendary adventures.
Really, I love doing anything that will make you laugh, giggle, or smile...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: It's said that I watch too many movies, this may be true. I always love the Breakfast at Tiffany's or Rear Window type. A good old movie that has taste or style to it. Something that gets you thinking, that has plot, or just some excellent acting. Even still, I'll enjoy the bad flick now and then.

Music: From Beatles to current pop rock to classical music. Some things that makes you want to dance, and doesn't cause a headache, I'll probably like it.

Books: Something sweet and cute, bloody and dark, intriguing and thrilling. I really do love all types. I'm a fan of Tolkins fantasy, Orson Scott Cards sic-fi, Branden Sandersons... whatever you call it and Peter Maylers tales. If it has a ring of humanly truth to it, I'll like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in my early teens I went this beautiful, completely unordinary hiking camp in the Trinity Apls. During one of our over night hikes my group was to hiked 15 hard, rocky, hilly miles to this tiny lake, that was suppose to beautiful. It was. But the trip was so difficult for me that I didn't think I'd make it with the rest. I was the smallest, with a backpack that felt like it could have been a ton. Yet when I reach the final peak that lead down to the lake I had a view of the whole world, a world where I, Clara, could do anything I wanted.

It was an amazing day.
