About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling to Japan and meeting/photographing people there!
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone!
My name is Clara. I currently live in Barcelona, but I was born in Madrid. I'm a very laid-back and open-minded person who loves to travel. I tend to be very quiet, but I am also pretty funny! Or so I've been told...
Oh, also it might be of interest to know that I am a vegetarian (I don't eat meat nor fish), but it is a personal choice, thus I don't expect you to stop eating meat or anything of the sorts when I'm around you. To each their own!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe people should do whatever they want as long as they don't hurt anybody else. I think we live in a society full of unwritten norms that keep us from being who we are, and that sucks. So yeah. Do your thing. Just be respectful & kind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Whenever I can, I am open to host people, and I also hope someday I will be able to surf some couches :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started hosting people in my hometown (Madrid) and had a great experience, though I did not have a Couchsurfing profile back then... I was using MySpace! I remember meeting a couple from the States who were super nice. We cooked together, hung out around town, and talked a lot! I also appreciated that they did their own thing, since sometimes I am busy with my studies.
Since being on this website I have hosted a few people and it's been great. It's so weird how nowadays you can meet people from all over the world so easily!
Interests
Currently I am doing a Master's degree in English and American Literature. So it goes without saying that I love reading. I also love languages. I can fluently speak Spanish (I am Spanish, so...), French (my mom is Belgian) and English. I am also learning Dutch and Korean.
Other passions include photography, traveling, collecting notebooks and other pieces of stationary, playing guitar (and listening to music in general!), drawing...

Music, Movies, and Books
So many kinds! Books I've enjoyed recently are Harry Potter (forever), stories by Raymond Carver, Pulp by Bukowski, Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, The Lake by Banana Yoshimoto, The Passion by Jeanette Winterson, etc.
As for music, I can listen to pop as easily as I can listen to punk. Artists that I enjoy are Laura Veirs, Amusement Parks on Fire, Death Cab For Cutie, Twelve Hour Turn, Hot Water Music, Against Me!, Beyoncé, EXO, Early Day Miners, American Football, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ah... too many! I played a few gigs with my band when I was 21. That was amazing. I also traveled to the States twice and have very fond memories of it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you tons about American literature, specifically 20th century, because I love it. I also know lots about photography, since I've been shooting for 8 years now. We can play the guitar. And! I am very, very interested in intersectional feminism, body positivity, and any movement that promotes love and being kind.
