Overview
About Me
My husband and I moved across the country last year and are just starting to explore our new region! We miss many aspects of life back home in Oregon but are excited to get to know life in upstate NY. We’re getting settled into our house and starting work on the backyard to make it a little garden oasis. We love to cook and you can usually find us in the kitchen, at the grocery store, or planning our next couple of meals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I got into Couchsurfing when I studied abroad in France in 2011-2012. I thought it was a really fun way to travel and I enjoyed meeting so many people through it. I have not been active since I came back to the states because I find that we usually end up camping/avoid big cities, so we don't look for people to stay with. I hosted a travelling band one time in college, and then a few travelers passing through Astoria, Oregon when I was living there. I hope to host again in the future, now I’m in a pretty sleepy town so I’m not sure what the demand will be for places here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Of course this is so broad. I sometimes can't help singing, but would not say that I'm tremendously into music (compared to many people I meet). I like listening to music in the car and while cooking, but find I also enjoy silence and/or conversations. I went through a big audiobook phase but haven’t been engrossed in the types of tasks that allow for that sort of distractions in a while, so I’m slacking on my reading. I recently read the Index Card, and now I’m really excited about interest rates.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Married my favorite roommate, now we get to ask each other what is for dinner every day.
