About Me

I love words, writing poetry, having deep, interesting, philosophical conversations.
I'm not particularly religious but I believe in the Buddhist values of life - trying to be in the present moment, to value every living thing, I meditate.
I feel at my happiest when I'm playing the drums of singing and making harmonious music with other people!
Also being outside in the warm sun in summer, by water makes me feel very happy and relaxed.
Swimming in open water, going on long walks through the countryside, staying up to watch the sunrise, dancing, going on adventures where you don't know where you're going to end up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm going to go travelling for 2 months, leaving at the end of April and want to find places and people to stay with!
I'm flying to Amsterdam first, planning to stay there for 2 weeks, then go on to Berlin for a week, Prague for 2 weeks, Vienna for a week then Crete for 2 weeks.

Interests

I play the drums (kit) and the Bodhran (traditional Irish drum), the Ukulele and Tin Whistle as well as sing. I'm in 2 Irish bands and I do a Joni Mitchell tribute act with my Ukulele.
I also like writing poetry, did an English and Creative Writing degree at the University of Portsmouth, UK. So I go to a lot of open mics and read my stuff out.
I enjoy sewing, teaching myself embroidery and leather work and battling with my sewing machine!
I have a practice fire-staff and juggling balls that I practice in the summer.
My favourite thing to be doing is making music and making friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swum in the Danube river in Austria. And hiked into the Austrian mountains, having a picnic at the top with Eagles swooping over head!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I volunteer in a vegan cafe kitchen so I have a few vegan/vegetarian recipes up my sleeve. But I quite enjoy preparing any kind of food for people as well.
I'm sure I could help someone in any of the musical instruments that I play!
Gentle Ukulele and singing in the background of your home! :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Ireland, Isle of Man, Turkey
