Overview
About Me
Hi I'm Clare. I've travelled all my life, hitting the 50+ country mark through work and personal travel, super lucky! I was born in the US and have since lived across the states and the UK in Texas, Ohio, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and London. In 2020, I spent 3 months out running covid lockdowns across Europe, in 2021, I spent 2 months living in Greece and in 2023 I took a year away from work to travel to places such as Spain, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, New York, Nepal and Austin.
I live in Central London, in a flat which has great travel links and local parks nearby. It's on the 12th floor so if you are afraid of heights, it might not be for you. Aside from a passion for travel, I started working In Formula 1, six months ago and love yoga, pilates and attending music gigs. I'm attempting to better my Spanish skills this year. I can understand quite a bit but speaking is challenge so I will always take the opportunity to practice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I look at couch surfing as a way of meeting new people and discovering new places and activities. I do a lot of solo travel and usually stay in hostels or on couches to interact with new people and learn about new cultures and lifestyles. I've had some awesome couchsurfing experiences over the past few years.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love live music and open to all genres - my Spotify is all over the place. I was massively into pop-punk as a teenager and every so often love to relive those days; Paramore, Green Day, Yellow Card, MCR, All Time Low, Panic! at the Disco, Blink, Jimmy Eat World etc. Other than that, I tend to listen to everything from Stereophonics, Khruangbin, Jamie Cullum, Leon Bridges, Foxes, The XX, Sam Fender, Chilli Peppers, Kygo, Beyonce, Future Islands and London Grammar toTaylor Swift and Mika. As I said, a bit all over the place.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Anything adventurous. I've been paragliding 3 times. The last time in Chamonix, Switzerland, I broke a rib but the views were awesome. Ask me for the video!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have worked in recruiting for 10+ years, across the accountancy and tech sectors so i'm clued up on most things related to jobs, applications and employability. I'm super happy to help in this area and also share my travel experiences and recommendations. I also love a good debate about the psychology and impact of technology - something a bit different!
