Overview
About Me
Hey there! I’m Vlad — originally from Ukraine, now living in Warsaw. I’m a data analyst by day, jazz pianist by night
Not sure what to write here and not sound cheesy. I love music, good talks, beautiful scenery. Do not care about tourist spots - I'd rather visit your favourite coffee place and hear a story about it.
When I’m not working or playing piano, I’m probably at a bouldering gym, snowboarding in winter, or losing to my friends at chess. I’m also up for long walks, coffee, hanging out, or a round of video games. Oh, and I'm also leading a prominent cultures/arts startup in Ukraine. I can talk about it for hours
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the idea of sharing everyday life with someone local — chatting over coffee, hearing what’s happening in town, maybe joining a jam session or a night walk. When I travel I don't have a checklist, so I'd rather spend an evening wandering around having a good talk rather than visiting a museum.
Interests
I am a composer and write mostly piano music. I love sharing my views on composing and music in general, so ask me away anything.
I am very much into bouldering, park walks, thoughtful movies and art in general
I also love board games, dungeon&dragons and similar, chess, and sometimes just a lazy evening with friends and video games. Nothing too fancy — good people, good vibe.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a big part of my life. While it's mostly jazz - but switching from Bill Evans or Alfa Mist into Aphex Twin or some techno or EDM is pretty normal in my playlist Sometimes it’s jazz, sometimes ambient, sometimes classical concerts or experimental — if it’s thoughtful or has a good groove, I’m in.

I've falled in love recently with the book "The Wandering Cat Chronicles" - wonderful, bright novel about everything humane. The story goes far beyond just the relationship between the owner and his cat, which is on the surface. What struck me most is how deeply it explores suffering, the ability to live fully, and the importance of depth as a key part of the existential meaning of life.

As for movies - the tastes are similar. I love a good picture as in Barry Lyndon, a quiet, humane story as in Perfect Days, or something more thought-provoking and offbeat like kind of kindness or an old-but-gold harold and maude comedy. Open to recommendations — I love hearing what films matter to people.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Defended myself from a drug addicted bum and crazy women in foreign country at 5 am. (that's one heck of a story, haha)
