Hello, this is Claudia, I am from Ecuador but currently living in the beautiful city of Tübingen in South Germany. I am passionate about traveling, photography, and knowing new cultures and friends.

I did International Relations for my bachelors so I am interested in migration, Environment, peace and conflict studies, just to mention a few.

On the other side I enjoy topics related to Anthropology cause I have some experience doing field work, especially related to linguistics. I am also passionate about volunteering cause it’s one of the few moments where I feel I truly contribute to society. Apart from that, I love hiking and camping. I grew up in the Andes mountains where I used to hike a lot with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I come from the beautiful arqueological city of Cañar in the Andes. I have met and hosted many people there (and in Quito) and I can say my whole family has a hospitality spirit. I learned hospitality from my parents who would always welcome anyone at their house. I can even say that they have been sometimes too generous.

We live in a rural area (city is pretty close tho) with so much nature and potatoes and corn fields. So, our hosts were so happy to experience the rural way of living in the Andean indigenous communities. I also took them hiking, fishing or sightseeing the arqueological sites of my city.

I decided to use CS after hosting a traveler who recommend me to open an account, before that I had no idea about this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I hiked in the Inca trail route in Ecuador for two days where I experience the extreme cold, rain and tiredness I have ever had…

- I volunteered as a teacher during the pandemic, I went to the students houses and supported them with their homework.

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I can share my recommendations of what to do in the town and ofc can show you the town

- I can also recommend things to do, places to see in the places I’ve been to, especially my country

- I can do the dishes or any chore, I am very tidy , really 🙈
