Overview
About Me
I have permanent laugh lines and an insatiable appetite . I'm an extremely sweet and sappy weirdo who can find meaning in just about anything. Places, no matter how beautiful can fall flat on their own without context and history- for that reason, I love to see places from the perspective of those who live within it.
When I was 19, I ran away from home and got on a plane to Vietnam for what I thought was gonna be the beginning of an 8-month backpacking trip. What I found instead was an amazing couchsurfing community in Saigon, where I met some of my most cherished friends at meet-ups- and what started off as a week trip turned into 2 years stay! I actively went to meet-ups and hosted but never had a chance to be a surfer myself!
Now, at 24, I am settled back in my hometown of Toronto, buried in books and essays to hopefully become a Social Worker. I spend my free days cooking, biking around, listening to podcasts, serving coffees, making friends with strangers, hosting BBQs and going to concerts.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I know it's totally cliche, but it's all about connecting people to one another, to step into someone's life for a brief moment in time and share living quarters, stories and experiences.
I've met so many amazing people from hosting couchsurfers over the years. I still keep in touch with many of them, and we occasionally 'like' each other's stuff from afar on facebook. It's so beautiful to see updates: some are moving overseas, having children or completing PhDs and it's so cool to think about the fact that we all met in the internet on this very site. Sappy, right? Told ya.
