I'm a volunteer, a traveler, a student and a seeker; "but I no longer do my seeking among the stars or in books, I'm beginning to hear the lessons which whisper from my blood" (if you know the quote I automatically love you). I lived the first 26 years of my life interested only in intellectual stuffs, studies and books, then I realized that there are much more things to find out in this world and I started to travel and volunteer. I've tried to tell something about my idea of traveling through my photos, which depict amazing experiences done during my travels.
I want to explore and acknowledge people, places, lifestyles, and a very big range of human experiences rather than just concepts and theories.
Community life, isolation, big cities, little village immersed in nature, comfortable places, uncomfortable one, people who search happiness in social relationships, people who search it in stoicism, rich people point of view, poor people point of view, people who like status quo, people who want to change the world... I want to learn something from everyone and everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I'm tired of the normal vacations with friends in which you see some monuments but don't really discover anything of other cultures and don't grow as a person.
Couchsurfing is the best way to discover new cultures and meet wonderful persons, two things that I really need in my life.

Unluckily in these years I'm living in houses given from UE and I can't host persons 😭😭😭, but I will do it as far as I can for the same reason: meet wonderful persons.

Interests

I love science, and everything explains the hidden mechanism behind what we can observe 🔬🔭
If I should suggest a book to everyone, it definitely would be "Behave" by Robert Sapolsky (and his course at Stanford that you can find on youtube)

I love to take long meditative-contemplative walks in nature 🏞🌅🌇.

Deep and meaningful human connections, and at least one moment of silly uncontrolled laughs, are fundamentals and something that I really pursue 😂👬👫👭.

And well, I don't want to perpetuate the stereotype but, as an Italian guy I'm really interested in food and cooking 👨‍🍳

Music, Movies, and Books

Herman Hesse is my spiritual brother, Dostoevskij my father and Göethe my spiritual uncle, but I appreciate a lot also science fictions and I'm exploring a more modern literature right now 📚.
Kubrick, Lynch, Wes Anderson, Cronenberg, Tarkowvski and someone more are my favorite directors 🎞.
I love a very big range of music, that is one of the most important thing in my life 🎵.

But even if I could seem a nerdy boring guy given these tastes, I love a lot of many other more common interests 😁😁😁

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My volunteering experiences with the European Solidarity Corp with Youth with less opportunities (difficult family backgroung, emarginated communities, poor people...).

My volunteer in Salamanca (Spain) with Gipsy adolescent, in particoular, made me grow up really a lot; from the beginning when they just made fun of me in a rebelled rude way, until the end when we built a deep relationship. I've worked with adolescent with different background, and some with very harsh and taught stories, with the common point of being emarginated.

My month in Belgium forest working in different eco-projects in the surrounding 🌳🌳🌳 building wooden cutlery, searching for plants to make baskets, eating only local food, hiking a lot, sleeping in barns, hitchhiking and so on
