Well, there are quite a few reasons I guess. I heard a lot of good things about Couchsufing from friends who are doing it since a few years and had great experiences.
I would love to meet new people from all over the world, hang out, have fun and explore with them and this seems to be the place to do that! =)

Oh man that's a hard one. Hmm. I really like all kinds of music: Rock (old and new, punk, alternative, metal, etc.) Raggae, Classical, Jazz, Electroswing, Irish folk, singer songwriter, ....

I also love all kind of books, so just a few titles to give ye an impression: To kill a mocking bird, Cider House Rules, Tale of two Cities, Lord of the Rings, The Neverending Story, Sherlock Holmes, all Terry Pratchett stories, ...

Same with the movies; it's just so hard to decide: The Star Trek franchise, Lord of War, Into the Wild, Apocalypse Now, Forest Gump, Django Unchained, Shutter Island, ...
