ABOUT ME

Born in Belgium from an Argentinian mother and a Canadian father,I took my first transatlantic flight when I was three months old. That may explain why I like so much to travel and discover the world! I already lived on three continents (Canada, Argentina and the Netherlands) and speak fluently four languages.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short to not try to make the best out of it. I try to enjoy each minute I spend on this planet, and that means for me to be active, do things, interact with people, travel, learn, share, laught...
Take care of others and they will take care of you. (At least, that is what I wish. It does not always work out, but I try to apply it anyways.)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offering a lovely place to stay for people visiting Montreal.I think Montreal is a wonderful city, and it worth to discover it! I am also often travelling, and I hope I will can get an insight of the cities I visit through people living there. For me, knowing a place, is knowing someone living there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CouchSurf in Lyon (France) was great (thanks to David Pelletier) and I wish again to get to know different people from different places. I am ready to meet you in Montreal or anywhere else around the globe if I pass by.

兴趣

I am a professional musician, performing flute with live electronics, and composing concert music for different chamber music groups or multimedia-art. Of course I am passionnate by new music but I am also fan of all contemporary arts disciplines.
My other passion is "food"! Cooking is certainly my favorite hobby, and of course that means the joy of sharing a good meal with friends around a table with a good bottle of wine. (the argentinian in me is very strong!)

I love reading lots of different types of books. Novels for vacations, poetry each night to open my mind to make nice dreams, philosophy to thing about what we are doing in this life, art books to have a glimpse of all the wonderful things created by human beings.
I do listen to many different types of music, especially contemporary classical music and improvised music. I also love jazz and keep in touch with what is happening in the french 'chanson' in Québec. Ethnomusicology as been important in my musical training, so I am familiar with many traditionnal musics from around the world, especially asian traditions that are very inspiring for a flutist.
I love good movies of 'repertoire'(not american Blockbusters), but unfortunately don't go often enough to the cinema. Some recent films I loved are "After the wedding" (a danish movie) and Persepolis (French).

Languages. I know how hard it is to try to learn a new language. The only way is to meet someone patient enought to help you practicing when your level is bad. You can hardly have a conversation, but you need to pass throught this step to get further. I will be happy helping anybody who tries to learn french, or english, spanish, or dutch! I thing we can learn so much about other cultures when getting to know their language. The way we express ourselves tells a lot about who we are.
