My name is Mike Tarkey and I'm currently spending the summer in El Salvador working with a non-profit called FUNDAHMER. I am 22 years old and will be starting medical school in the fall.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Right now, because I am a student, can only surf and not host. But I want to be able to share where I come from and the things I´ve seen with anyone who wants to listen.

Interests

I´m studying biology back in the US and am loving it. It´s seriously the best major to have because you get to learn about how the world works. What can be cooler than that?

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: anything by Hayao Miyazaki. That man is a genius. Also Y Tu Mama Tambien is an incredible movie that everyone should see.

Music: Fleet Foxes are currently topping my playlist.

Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, His Dark Materials Trilogy, and plenty more.
