Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
To live and eat with abandon, like a monkey discovering its first banana.
ABOUT ME
My ideal day begins and ends with chocolate, involves at least one fantastic meal shared with friends or strangers, a swim in an ocean and a hike in some mountains.
Other things I love in no particular order: sleeping, narrow colourful streets with lots of bustling, listening to people playing trumpets or harmonicas. Or accordians. Or any other instrument. Swimming—preferably in warm water. Colours. Smiles. Candles. Great magazines. Artists of all kinds. The smell of burning wood. Sand between my toes. Trying to have a conversation with someone when I only know broken bits of their language and them only broken bits of mine. Body language. Ha.
PHILOSOPHY
life is ridiculous and absurd but wonderful and boundless and should be enjoyed preferably in large gulps.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I recently moved to Madrid to be with my boyfriend, who is Spanish.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A little bit! I've couch surfed in Toronto and Edmonton only for one night each. And you know, I've had friends crash at my place and vice versa countless times, but who hasn't?
Intereses
I love cooking, eating, walking, hiking, cycling, reading, writing, photography, movies, mass spontaneous pillow fights amongst strangers in public squares and other random acts of wonder.

Música, películas y libros
Music: anything worth getting jiggy to, blues, jazz, new music I've never heard before. Things I'm listening to lots lately in no particular order: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Black Keys, BlackRoc, Dean Martin, Nina Simone, Bon Iver, DePedro, The National, Spoon, TV on the Radio, Andrew Bird, Iron and Wine, Billie Holiday, Broken Social Scene...
Books: 100 years of solitude, L'étranger, A farewell to arms, L'immoraliste, Brave New World, Le Petit Prince...
Movies: Pans Labyrinth, Amelie, Volver, Fantastic Mr. Fox...
Algo increíble que he hecho
I was in Air Cadets when I was younger. I got into flight school, which I eventually failed (my crushed childhood dream). It's a sad story. However, before I failed, I did get to fly gliders, which are light planes with a large wingspan and no engine. My favourite tricks are what they call a spin and a spiral, which are two slightly different maneuvers, but both involve spinning the aircraft straight towards the ground at 98 m/hr before pulling back up and out. Most fantastic sensation ever.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I'm not a great cook, but I'd love to exchange recipes. My mum makes a mean mouse au chocolat, which I can try to emulate. I can also share my knowledge of English and French although I'm by no means a teacher. I'm a writer, so if you need help writing or editing something in English that's totally up my alley.
Learn: I'm working on learning my Spanish and my photography skills, so anyone who can help with that will be my hero.
