About Me

My name is Clovis, I grew up in a city called annonay... You never heard about it. It is in the middle of nowhere. That was really nice when I was a child. I'm sad nobody ever heard about it because it is where the hot air ballon has been created. :)
Then, when I was 14, thanks or because of my father, I moved in the north of France, in Lille. In France, a famous saying is "when you move to the north, you cry twice: Once when you arrive, the other time when you leave" which is quite true.
It was after all an awesome thing. I met other kind of people and finally things happen in this city! There are so many things to do.
When I was 15, I made the decision to go abroad for a whole year, thanks to my parents. My brother did that 6 years before. I thought it was awesome. I was scared at first not to succeed but it was the best choice i ever made (see just below).
Then, after my high school, I decided to go study in switzerland. This is a beautiful country but I didn't get the chance to visit it so much due to the lack of time and money. This year, I am doing an exchange in Lisbon to complete my bachelor in mechanical engineering.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Of course, when we say couch surfing we think about hosting somebody or being hosted by someone for free. Which is of course awesome. But I don't think it is all about that.
When i was in norway with 2 friends, we asked to some people one the streets if they could host us. When some of them finally accepted, they showed us what their life was like. This is when we really understood their culture. In what ways their lives were differents from ours. We learnt so much in a few days...
A few years later, we did it again in armenia. Somebody we didn't even know send us to his family and we stayed at their places for several days. We didn't even speak a common tongue but we learnt a lot about this really different culture. It was an amazing experience because of the huge difference between our ways of live.
And now i'm just willing to reiterate that experience in both ways.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen pretty much everything. I'm not in fond of rap. But I admit, I mostly listen to commercial music. But I truly want to discover some new kind of musics.
Concerning movies, I follow pretty much the same pattern. But I'm trying to develop my culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Denmark for a year in a host family. They quickly became my second family. I was in a danish school and I met some many amazing and unexpected people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My happiness, some funny stories and so many things! I'd also like to share my cooking or musical skills but unfortunately, they are quite limited. But I'm sure we'll manage something just fine!
I can also show you nice places in my city, and maybe find new ones!
