Adventures aid me in my artistic pursuits which include writing, music, and theater.

I thrive in exciting new environments and meeting new people as I travel inspires the work I do.

I love new experiences and being around fun, happy people though I'm generally rather quiet and self sufficient.

I love music, dancing, museums, and movies...and cats!!! Okay, doggies are fun too!!!

Mostly I travel to deepen my respect for other cultures while hoping to experience the beauty in everyday life...worldwide!

PHILOSOPHY

Personally I go with the flow...I'm pretty laid back. I just try to keep my heart and mind open while not forgetting to bbrreeaatthhee...ahh.

I've always enjoyed experiencing as much as I can and one day I'll get around to writing a rather thick book about all the lovely people, places, and things I've encountered...that will come after all the screenplays, poems, and songs I write!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CS but my best friend and roommate has used this site to travel and we've had great visitors stay with us here in San Francisco.

I'm surprised at how many people I meet who do not know about CS but I tell everyone I meet about this project's awesome reputation.

I'm very happy to finally be a member! I feel certain that the connections I make will lead me on adventures full of friendship and fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While living in San Francisco it seems as if we always have someone sleeping over! I love hosting people here in such a fabulous city.

One of my first CS experiences happened last summer. On a cross country roadtrip, our beautiful VW van broke down in Salt Lake City and through CS we met Phil who actually insisted he would take the couch - you're the BEST PHIL!!!

And despite SLC's conservative exterior, Phil managed to bring us to an underground basement Jazz club that serves amazing vegan pizza!!!

Interests

I love music and writing... and curling up with a good book, when i'm not twirling on the dance floor! Oh - and school...I like to rule the school!

This past semester at school I took a very interesting class on LGBT American History. It was kind of sad - queers have not been treated very fairly in this country. But learning this history has taught me how to learn from injustice in order to move forward in a creative and positive fashion!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books about life experiences...naturally. My favorite books I've read recently include Zami by Audre Lorde and Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown...all were so inspiring to read and see how the writers expressed what it is like to overcome hardships in life.

I love films by John Waters, Gus Van Zant, John Cameron Mitchel, David Lynch, and Andy Warhol.

Music heals me - it makes me dance, laugh, and sing!!! I love Peaches, The Knife, Leslie Hall, Gravy Train!!!, Midnight Star, Grace Jones, Nina Hagen, The Cure, The B-52's and dirty 70's disco...plus lots and lots of other stuff!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently I drove friends from out of town over the Golden Gate Bridge and through the mountains of the Muir Woods along the coast.

California is a beautiful state and it was quite thrilling to see the high cliffs along the Pacific Ocean.

In the Carolinas where I grew up, I used to hike a bit and once I saw an enornous tree growing out of a rather large boulder...the mountains are really old there and very beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking and I always try to arrange each plate with artistic flair and love!

I really enjoy dressing up too and I always find the best items at thrift stores and vintage shops. I like wearing colorful clothes with whimsical patterns and I think my creative expression inspires others to be free and creative in their own individual expression!
I'm currently trying to be more disciplined to write more...stories and theater can teach so much and I'm always up for mad coolaborations!!
